MariMilova: International Children's Day

"Children's Day is recognized on various days in many places around the world, to honor children globally. It was first proclaimed by the World Conference for the Well-being of Children in 1925 and then established universally in 1954 to protect an "appropriate" day.Major global variants include a Universal Children's Day on November 20, by United Nations recommendation.

Yesterday, volunteers from organization with the NovSU (Novgorod State University), which is called Stud Sovet (something like Students' Union) did an action for children that was called "Summer. Sun. Children.". We gathered in a park and asked kids to contour their hands (and some times feet) and write their names in them, for that they got either a balloon or a bottle of soap bubbles. The kids had a blast, and their parents were happy for their kids to have such fun. The volunteers had fun as well, it's such a reward to see the children smile.
