Well. I got into Saint-Petersburg State University. Yeeeeaaaahh!
!! I will be studying the history of art. The process of studying for exams, writing the exams, recieving grades, applying into university, waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, getting the original documents into the university, and getting admitted was CRAZY! Now it is all in the past. And you know how every time you finish something hard you say "wheeew, thank god it is over!"... Well I wasn't the exception. I did say that after i got admitted and I genuinely thought it was over.
Ha! Really?!
Not so fast dear Mari...
The dorms!!!
Oh my god. I cannot explaing how horrible it was getting into the dorms.
All students were given a go at August 25 to get to the dorms, register and settle in. Well can you imagine a crowd of 1500 people trying to fit into one elevaitor to get on the 13 floor of of the building to see a person who will register them? And let me tell you - there
was exactly one (1) person who was working that day in the building. Isn't that crazy???
Isn't it???
Well after 4 hours of waiting in line - ha-ha, "line"... you wouldn't call it a line - I was standing with my father on the 13th floor in a hall, waiting as many, many others did. But we weren't in a line, oh no, we were smashe into each other, there was no place for
an apple to fall! In the begining (you'll see it on the photo) some people were even able to go
through the crowd if they felt sick. But after 2 hours not one person was able to move because there was just a wall of people. I couldn't even move my hand to write a text mesagge... No water, no air condition (this is not USofA =))))

Eventually, some man told us to go on the 10th floor to just grab a place and they will register us later. I RAN!!...for my life-icould say)) Got a place in the apartment with tw
o rooms. One room for 2 people and another for 3. I'm where 3... What is fabulous is that there was just renovation, as a matter of fact the floors from 8 to 2 are closed becaus there is still renovation going on. so I got lucky to get a blace in this exact building. Building #10, floor #10, room 1005b. ))

(in the pic: the room, my bed is on the left. By the way, we opened the window, and it didn't close properly anymore...and one bed didn't have a leg, we asked the admunistrator to come see to it but no one came still - 6th day going on)

That would have been grate IF... the dorms are situated OUTSIDE of city!!! To get to my faculty I need to spend at least 2 hours! That means at least 4 hours of travel on public transportation every day!!!!!!
Of course there are dorms in the city (20 mins away from my faculty - that must be haven) but only few selected live there.
Tomorrow I have consecration into students as all other freshmen will and later a meeting at the faculty.
These are the latest 'craziest news ever' I have.
With love your Mari
I love you, my sister...) keep well...)
